@33MHz funny story is that a number of used dealers deal in cars that have been underwater. A quick paint job and an interior replacement is very easy/cheap and the buyers seldom find out until it is too late to do anything about it.

I wonder how many posts about Covington have been deleted.

@nitinkhanna @blumenkraft Twitter is slow to adopt anything since they closed up moft of the api. A competing service or app would need to support it to make it happen. I don't think I need to remind you what happened to twitpic.

@joe I hope they fail #fingerscrossed

@joe there are a few repair tech on youtube that discuss Apples' practices. Quite a bit of it is sobering. The new replacement screen error is...utter crap.

@33MHz his goal was to devalue the data they had on him. Guess it worked.

@33MHz there is a guy put on the no fly list a number of years ago. They ended up tweeting and posting pics only of the most random stuff often sending @'s to the agency responsible. Eventually went off the no fly list.

@joe Another reason to dislike Apple.

@blumenkraft not in his recent podcast. Was when he still read off tech news headlines. A friend showed me the clip because it was relevant to things I was working on.

@blumenkraft Kevin Rose discussed the matter to a short degree. It was a time when tech wasn't in use enough to be the status quo and law enforcement used any reason to have a crackdown on 'hackers'.

@blumenkraft Harsh perhaps and I forgot to add that some of the convictions can come with legal fines as pentalty. And they aren't small.
EchoDunk EchoDunk
@blumenkraft it's okay to be angry when someone says means things on the internet but not an excuse for doxxing
EchoDunk EchoDunk
@blumenkraft You're virtue signaling. Again definitions of politness are subjective. Further, harsh words are not the same as mashing windows or bashing someone's head in with a bike lock.

You do realize how much damage can be done to someone with just the basic personal information? I think I Chaos Computer Club could explain that better than I could.
EchoDunk EchoDunk
@blumenkraft in fact if the victim of doxxing under that precedent had a heart attack the person doing to doxxing could be charged with homicide.
EchoDunk EchoDunk
@blumenkraft there is legal precendent for the person doing the doxxing to be convicted of murder. One of the few things California got right.

@blumenkraft there are laws against the disclosure of personally identifiable information in the United States. Most of it is tied to identify theft and fraud. But there is also unlawful transmission of such information. With equal sentencing.
