It's a long post, but as I see from comment, @doctorlinguist approves. http://vivapowerpc.blogspot.com/2019/01/do-things-really-end.html (And btw. I hate the http/https problem with css and images, but Google won't force me to put https on my server.)
"I've seen the future, you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sittin' around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake." Microsoft Edge is going Chromium.
Bought Sony Clié PEG-UX50 and IBM WorkPad C3 on a local flea market, together for about $10. Clié needs AC adapter otherwise is in mint condition and seems to be working. WorkPad untested yet.
I've got two Xserve2,1 machines for free. If I only knew someone with spare 1U rack position in his server room!

Let me openly state this: If I can get a POWER9 CPU, board, some RAM and shipping under $1000 in the middle of 2019, I will try to manage to squeeze it in our family budget. Uh, now it's out.
My desk: SGI O2, Mac Mini G4, EliteBook, Speccy 2010 and a 386 laptop. It's a mess. I miss pizzabox workstations. Sure, we now have LCDs and don't need that form factor to use the space under huge CRT displays anymore, but pizzaboxes could be stacked!
Installed the new OpenBSD 6.4 on my original Asus EeePC 701. Without X11, textmode only. Very refreshing!
Okay, ByteFest 2018 is over, back to the normal life. Well, _my_ normal life with SGI O2, Mac Mini G4 and ZX Spectrum on my desk, as usual.
