Began doing the routine checkup of my vintage compact Macs. So far: - The Macintosh SE boots just fine. - The Macintosh Classic, alas, has issues: no video and a strange clicking sound (not the HD). Capacitors failing? - The SE/30 boots in 9 seconds!
*spots funny typo* Yeah, I’d love to see a new “cheese grader” Mac Pro as well. You place the cheese in the tray-loading cheese drive and the Mac gives it a grade. “This gorgonzola is B-“. Sigh.
I finally purchased a new Mac. If all goes well, it'll be available for pickup at the local Apple Store in about ten days. :-)
But now all is well. What a senior moment, though.
Back again. This time, the reason for my small hiatus was embarrassingly stupid: I got logged out of Arachis, and when it was time to log back in, I realised I'd forgotten part of my password. Reset it in such a hurry, I actually forgot the new password.
Quick question, because this is driving me crazy: if a laptop had a bad GPU, would it be able to output video via VGA anyway? (I don't think so, asking for confirmation here).
